Childcare Staff

Child Care Staff

The Church provides childcare for Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings and several special events. Lane Orttenburger and Alison Underwood take care of the children and provide a worship lesson activity as well.

Treasurer

Gil Shew-Treasurer

Gil has been treasurer for about eight years. His primary job is as the Administrator of St. Andrews Retirement Community. St. Andrews is a 40 acre facility that includes independent living, assisted living and nursing care.

Gil has a Bachelors Degree in Marketing from Eastern Kentucky University.

Gil takes care of all of our financial needs for the general fund, love fund, and the endowment.

Preschool Teacher/ Director

Donna Baker-Presbyterian Preschool Teacher

Donna has been the teacher with the Preschool for nine years. She is a Certified Teacher, with a bachelors degree in Early Elementary Education. She received her degree from Eastern Kentucky University. She is a graduate of Model Lab School and is a Richmond native.

Previously, she worked at Daniel Boone Elementary for two years. But she prefers working with younger children in a Christian atmosphere.

She and her husband, John, have one son, Brady.

Dir. of Music

Dr. Joyce Wolf - Director of Music

Joyce has been the music director for since May of 2002. She is also an associate professor at Eastern Kentucky University in the music department.

She has a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, and a Master of Music & Applied Voice, with a minor in Baroque Performance Practice from West Virginia University. She received her doctorate from the University of Kentucky in Music Arts in Vocal Performance with a Minor in Music History.

Joyce and her husband, Gene, have two children, Lacey and Morgan. Gene is a Special Education teacher at Model Laboratory School.

Youth Directors

Denise & Kevin Crump-Co-Directors of Youth Ministry

Denise and Kevin in charge of the youth program here at First Presbyterian. They are members here as well as their oldest two children. Kevin is a teacher with the Fayette County School system adnd Denise is an aide in the Madison County School system. They have five children all together!

Director of Missions & Education

Monica TillieMonica Tillie has been working for the church since November 2002. She is currently in seminary at Lexington Theological Seminary, were she is pursuing a Masters of Divinity degree with the intention of becoming an ordained pastor. Monica graduated from Eastern Kentucky Univirsity in 1997 with a bachelors degree in Psychology and in 1999 with a masters degree in Counseling. She completed the licensure for counselors 2002. Social work has always been a calling for Monica, as she has worked with spouse abuse victims, homeless families, and people with drug addictions.

Office Manager

Dana Miller has been the Office Manager for First PrDana Milleresbyterian Church since July of 1998. Dana is a vital part of running the church. She is a friendly and helpful person who shows her dedication to the Lord through her daily service. 

Dana and her husband, Kent, have three grown children: Brook, Kyle and Brett. Originally from the Ashland area, Dana moved to Richmond to attend Eastern Kentucky University. She and Kent have called Richmond home since meeting at EKU.  Dana has recently recieved a new title, that of Granna!   Dana's daughter, Brook and husband Randy had a beautiful baby girl, Kamara Grace Loggins!                              

PASTOR - HEAD OF STAFF

Dr. Curtis "T" Christian IV 

  Curtis Christian

Dr. Curtis Christian came to First Presbyterian Church as Pastor (Head of Staff) in February of 2008.

Born in Key West, Florida, into a navy family, Curtis grew up all over the country including Norfolk, Virginia; Honolulu, Hawaii; and Charleston, South Carolina.
